About Yaelis
I graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2011 with a bachelor's in communication sciences and disorders (speech pathology and audiology). I began teaching in 2016 and have taught since. I’ve taught second grade and third grade and specialize in teaching phonics and reading. I can also teach students the writing process and how to write all versions of writing (specializing in narrative and expository). I love teaching and helping little ones learn.

I have a strong background in phonics and can help build strong readers and writers! I can teach students how to decode words, read fluently, read with automaticity, comprehend stories, and become better writers. My lessons would be geared more towards elementary-aged students who are either learning to read or struggling to read, struggling with sequencing story events and comprehending short stories. A typical lesson would include me teaching and then having the students practice for perfection. Helpful hints, examples, worksheets, and practice passages will be given to assist the students.
