About Julia
Having grown up in the French speaking regions of Belgium for most of my childhood, I have always considered both English and French to be first languages of mine. Having recently graduate from the University of North Carolina with a Certificate in French Translation, my hopes are to be able to share my passion of languages with others through remote tutoring sessions. I find that a lot of people put off learning new languages because it seems like such a big task when in reality with a little creativity it can be fun!

My goal when teaching is always for me and my student to eventually be able to communicate only in French with one another. I believe that one of the best ways to pick up a new language is through immersion; I therefore try to incorporate as much French listening into my lessons as possible, whether that be through tv shows, listening to music, or simply through hearing me speak. I try to keep lessons to a maximum of 40 minutes, just long enough to learn something new and valuable each week without it be too long and daunting! My lessons are designed for students with no prior knowledge of the French language, meaning that we will start from the very beginning and gradually build our way up to conversational levels of French!
