About Sean

Hi, I’m Sean, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, develop their skills and achieve their goals through personalised learning and support.

I have a background in sport, education and coaching, holding a BSc (Hons) in Sports, Physical Activity and Health, alongside a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness. I am currently completing an iPGCE with iQTS in Secondary Physical Education, while working as a Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school.

My experience working with young people has shown me the importance of creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable, supported and motivated to improve. I enjoy finding ways to make learning engaging and adapting my approach to suit each student’s individual needs.

I want to teach because I believe education has the power to improve confidence, open opportunities and help young people recognise their own potential. Seeing students make progress, overcome challenges and develop belief in their abilities is what motivates me to continue working in education.

I look forward to helping students learn, grow and achieve their goals in a supportive and enjoyable way.

My Teaching Approach & Methodology

My approach to tutoring is centred around creating a supportive, engaging and personalised learning environment where every student feels confident to ask questions, make mistakes and develop their skills. I believe that every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching style, pace and resources to suit each student’s individual needs, learning preferences and goals.

My lessons combine clear explanations, practical examples, questioning techniques and interactive activities to help students develop a deeper understanding of the subject. I focus not only on improving academic performance but also on building confidence, motivation and independent learning skills.

My Qualifications & Experience

I have a BSc (Hons) in Sports, Physical Activity and Health and a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness. I am also currently completing an iPGCE with iQTS in Secondary Physical Education.

Alongside my studies, I work as a Learning Support Assistant in a secondary school, where I support pupils with a range of abilities and additional learning needs. This experience has helped me develop strong communication skills, patience and the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning requirements.

I also have experience coaching young people in sport, which has strengthened my ability to motivate learners, explain concepts clearly and create a positive learning environment.

Who My Lessons Are For

My tutoring is suitable for:

* Primary and secondary school students
* Students looking for additional support, confidence building or exam preparation
* Learners who benefit from a personalised approach and extra guidance outside the classroom

I can support students across different ability levels by adapting lessons to their current understanding and targets.

Typical Lesson Length

My typical lessons are 60 minutes, providing enough time to introduce new concepts, practise skills, answer questions and review progress. Lesson length can be adjusted depending on the student’s age, goals and individual needs.
