About Benjamin
Over the course of the last five years, I have completed a degree in Spanish as well as a degree in environmental sustainability, with a minor in mathematics. I have also, during that time, completed two separate 300-hour AmeriCorps terms, helping develop sustainable urban agriculture projects while also working in restaurants to support my studies. I additionally spent a year living in Chile, where I worked in a soil lab while speaking a foreign language. For the last year now, I have been tutoring English online as well, helping me master my language teaching skills. My experiences in both the academic and professional worlds is tested, and I am excited to help you continue to learn as well!

As a lifelong Spanish learner, I know the ins and outs of learning Spanish as a new language. I have spent years in classrooms, analyzing grammar and vocabulary, as well as a year in a Spanish speaking country putting my learning to the test. What I have learned is that the best way to learn Spanish is to give your brain no other choice. So I will speak as much Spanish as possible in my lessons, only using English to explain when necessary. If you are looking for help with a specific assignment, we will look at it in detail and I will be sure that you understand the subject as much as possible. If you just want to practice, we will spend our time talking, as just this simple practice will help you improve greater than any other. My experience as a learner is what makes me a great teacher, and I am happy to teach learners of Spanish at any high school level as well as lower level college classes.
