About Jacob
My name is Jacob, I am a graduate from the University of Michigan double major in math and physics. As a lab assistant instructor at the Michigan Math and Science Scholars program in the Summer of 2024, working collaboratively with classmates in hard math and physics classes where we had to tutor others and ourselves to get through assignments, and as a substitute teacher since September 2025, I have worked with many students and others to teach on subjects from crystallography to simple math and history at all levels of education, not just doing standard substituting but staying after school if students needed help and exploring topics in further depth if they wanted. This is my life goal, to educate others and have them learn, and in the process, I learn for my whole life. I hope I can help on that journey.

The lessons I do are based on what the student needs. They want me to sit down or talk live one on one, I’ve done it over Zoom and in real life. Need me to lecture, I am more than happy with questions in between or just a recording, I’ve done that too. My tutoring is about being as flexible and dynamic as possible to suit your needs, and I will research on my own how to best present ideas and be a lifelong learner so you too can learn and we can both get through lessons. I have mostly worked with high school students and college students, but can work with middle school and elementary as well.
