About Denise
I have recently finished my doctoral studies in UCD in the field of Philosophy. I passed both my Masters and my Doctorate with distinction. I have numerous academic publications and am the recipient of two scholarships, one from UCD and another from Research Ireland. I have also won an award for an essay I wrote during my Masters, which was judged by a Philosophy Professor from Oxford University.
The highlight of my doctoral studies has undoubtedly been my role as a tutorial teacher. I adore being in the classroom, mediating engaging debates and discussions about complex ideas. Many of my students were not native English speakers and required extra assistance with essay writing, which I was happy to assist with. However I have found many students with great insights could only express these in the classroom, and could not articulate them in their assignment. I hope to help you find your voice and writing style so that you always receive the grade you deserve.

I have five years teaching experience in UCD. As I am responsible for grading essays in this role, I am especially equipped to help you create answers that will impress graders and examiners (they can spot an AI written answer a mile off).
My lessons are generally geared towards leaving cert or university students studying English or Philosophy; whatever exam, essay, or project you are working on will be our main focus. We will go through the question step by step, create an outline, and formulate an answer that is equal parts well structured, well researched, clearly written, and creative. For university students, we will also cover correct referencing styles.
Lessons will be 1 hour long, though extended lessons for big projects can be arranged.
