About Miranda
I graduated with a BA in Theatre & World Communication from a renowned university and spent two years volunteer/assistant teaching middle school theatre. Before university, I student taught all levels from K-8th grade and found a passion for assisting my middle school students with their written papers. Throughout my university days and after, I assisted many of my peers with editing and composing essays from basic class work to cover letters and college admission/honors essays. This is something I've always enjoyed and I love being able to help others see the beauty in it.
I travel often and have had the opportunity to gain knowledge and wisdom from many different cultures and countries. This allows me an open mind to work with people of all ages and backgrounds, to help both of us grow. My hope is to know you on a level where you feel comfortable being totally open with me in our learning process to help you truly get the most out of each session.
I have been through and understand what it's like to struggle in school and can help my students push through whatever may hold them back. I was by no means the best student as I struggled to find what worked best for me in the form of studying. I experienced my own struggle with testing anxiety, like many students do, and I have learned how to push past that to be the best writer and student of English Literature and the Arts. Yes, I am still a student; we all are. We never stop learning, we just grow into cultivators of our passions. We can and we will find the best way for you to grow and in many cases, get you to a point where you may not even need me on a normal basis anymore.
That is my goal; to teach and help my students grow into the best students they can be and then to step back and let them take the world by storm. My support and assistance where needed never ends. If I can help you in any way, please reach out, then take a deep breath; your best is yet to come!

I work with students of all ages. I have a focus in high school & undergraduate general courses or university essay editing, but I taught middle school theatre for two years and loved working with my young students for their theatre work as well as other class work. All who I've helped with college admissions have been accepted to their chosen program to date and most if not all who asked for assistance with cover letters for employment have moved on to the next level in their chosen company's hiring process.
If you are looking for a tutor to guide you to becoming a better writer or student of Shakespeare, or even if you just need assistance with writing college admissions papers/ cover letters or just want someone to proofread & edit your work, I am the tutor for you. I am laid-back and patient and will work to get to know you to ensure that I can tailor your learning experience to fit you and your learning style.
I don't always follow traditional tutoring styles as that does not fit every student. Shakespeare for example; I have learned that sometimes looking at his plays as what they are (plays before literature), many students are able to connect and understand what is being said and what the symbolism and ideology is better than just looking at the works as classic literature with specific and expected views from traditional teachings. There is so much more simplicity to his and other playwrights' works than many would believe and from there you can find the deeper meanings.
In our first session we will talk to get an understanding for each other; I will administer a drill to see where they stand or I will read previous works if working in essay writing. If the student is specifically needing assistance with creating essays for college/school admissions or cover letters, we will start by talking through (research for cover letter) what is required for the topics at hand.
Getting to know you helps me find the best way to guide you into finding your own "flow" on paper. We all have a different inner voice and it comes out different for all of us when put on paper. I will help you take that inner voice and find the best, most clear and concise way to put that into whatever work you have in an educated and professional way. Each style of essay or writing requires different formatting and different levels of organization and personal voice; I can help you find that perfect balance and raise your scores or give you more confidence going into tests and admissions/job applications and writings or even help strengthen personal writings to take forth to higher possibilities. My job is to make you feel comfortable and confident in your focus of study with me. Rates change based on topic and level of materials, but I cannot wait to see what amazing things we can do together!
