About Alexandra
I'm Alexandra Philip and I recently graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Space Studies. I work full-time as a safety engineer at NASA (Kennedy Space Center). Throughout my college career, I thrived on learning from others via labs, classes, and internships, but really enjoyed giving back my knowledge to others. Whether it's friends or classmates, it brought joy to be able to teach a subject that they considered complex in a different light to their understanding. In my teaching, I always am reassuring and calm their frustrations to better understand the source of the problem and provide solutions. I rarely ever give up on someone who has trouble in a subject as I have had such frustrations before and it's beneficial to have another perspective to demonstrate a method or concept to grasp the overall topic. As a tutor, I am willing to take out my time to overcome frustrations to ensure my student is confident in a subject/topic that may help them in the future. I attempt not to do all the work for them but to ensure they can do the work solo.

My teaching method is set to the needs of my students as Iike feedback on the factor that makes the subject difficult. I ensure that my students are heard, develop multiple practice problems, and perform together and solo. I understand that every student learns differently, so it's my job to cater to those needs to make a complex subject less stressful. My lessons will be meant for anyone that wants to learn a specific subject such as Alegra I & II, Pre-calculus, and Calculus I & II at either a high school or college level.
