About Noah

Greetings, my name is Noah Abdul-Kareem Idris. I will soon be a Temple University second year transfer student. I am still learning myself, but I am passionate not only about piano but also about serving others. I began piano a year and a half ago - it was discouraging. Reynolds had a piano program, so I decided to join in my junior year of high school. I found the piano really fascinating, the way one could portray such beautiful imagery from its keys. But once I settled into the class, I realized how much "better" everyone was than me. I was moving at a slower rate. I kept telling myself that I would never be as good as these guys who've been playing for a while. But my piano teacher challenged me and pushed me. When I had little confidence, she reminded me to keep going. I decided to practice over the summer break, and I came back with a newfound confidence. In my senior year, I played in the piano and guitar showcase, I performed at Sound Forge, and I played in the cafeteria - it was great. The entire reason why I want to tutor the fundamentals of piano to beginners or those who want to get into piano is because I know the frustration. I will be patient, and you will walk away each day more confident. Let's take on piano together!

About the lesson

Teaching will be via Zoom, and we will go over fundamentals. Including scales, types of chords, chord progressions, the grand staff, improvisation, and more. I am still in the learning process myself, so beginners are my focus. I am excited to work with you!
