I studied ink wash painting with Franz, which has been proven an invaluable experience.

Franz usually prepares a clear curriculum and comprehensive research before the first class, and bring to each class more than enough reference literature and artworks. Unlike many visual art tutors who only provide tips on improving painting techniques, Franz encourages his students to approach visual art through literature, music, performance, film and philosophy. This is why even years after leaving Franz' class, I still benefit from that learning experience. Especially as someone who work in an art gallery, I find the experience in Franz' class has helped me develop a passion for art in the long term.

Fluent in both English and Chinese, and equipped with the skills in traditional Chinese painting and Western art, Franz is capable of explaining the subjects from different perspectives so that students from various cultural backgrounds could understand. Also, the atmosphere in Franz' class is calming and delightful and the students can always expect the company of good music.

Over the years I have taken classes with different organisations, but among them Franz' is probably my favourite.
