About Dionysis
Hello I am Dionysis Gonatas (31 years old), I live in Greece and I teach music the way I would like someone had taught me, trying to be as fun as possible, but also respect the needs, motivation and musical background of the student. I am constantly learning music from 7 years old and I am a multi-instrumentalist (bouzouki, baglama, tzoura, guitar, oud, lavta, trumpet, violin, drums, darabuka, bedir) but my main instrument is bouzouki (3 stringed). Also I have studied Western and Eastern music (maqam, byzantine). I also studied physics, and that helps me understand the concept of sound better and learn about different teaching techniques. At present I am writing a book about the musical theory of Rebetiko music.

Hello I am Dionysis Gonatas, I live in Greece and I teach music the way I would like someone had taught me, trying to be as fun as possible, but also respect the needs, motivation and musical background of the student. So there is not a typical plan that I have, instead I organize it with the student. I am a multi-instrumentalist but my main instrument is bouzouki. Also I have studied Western and Eastern music (maqam, byzantine). That's why, I have a lot of tools to understand and teach music. The lessons are for students of any level, and my purpose is to get people to know more about rebetiko in general, find the beauty in the details of this music, learn to play quickly and finally be able to learn by ear and compose/improvise on their own.
