I believe everyone can write and I feel privileged to read anyone's writing because it is a passageway into the intertwining of their brain. However, 99 per cent of the time you see people who know the answers but are unsure of their abilities. My goal is to help students become confident in their capacity to write and think critically about relevant topics. I do this by starting with their passions and slowly moving towards a less familiar subject matter.
I see myself as more of a guide in a journey towards self-confidence to properly express oneself. There is no greater sense of achievement than helping someone attain this.
I love English and writing essays, I analyse books, movies, etcetera for fun. I completed advanced, extension 1 and 2 English achieving an E3 for both extension classes and a band 5 for advanced. I have a degree in journalism and public relations and essentially work as a professional writer in Corporate Affairs. I tutored students of all ages but specialised in year 11 & 12 standard, advanced & extension English students in Bathurst for two years while studying. Literature and writing is my passion, I am obsessed with the nuances of the English language and love passing on my knowledge to students and seeing them achieve.
I am experienced and have seen success in helping students improve their essay writing, short answer questions, critical analysis and exam technique. I will be able to help you develop strong essay plans and produce an incredibly powerful analysis. I will teach you the tools to find a technique in any quote and structure an essay around it. I will also be able to help with the complicated addition of context to your essays. While my extensive understanding and readings of the literary canon means I can help you find and analyse related texts.
I am currently employed at Bundaberg Brewed Drinks and am developing a public relations/corporate affairs function there.
