About Simon
As a busy musician, I’m still actively composing, making and selling records as well as performing at concerts with several bands including The Heliocentrics, MNP and Portmeirion.
I’ve had lessons myself on guitar and bass from several brilliant jazz musicians.
I also work part time at Brighton Electric Studios, where I repair and fix guitars.
I have an up to date DBS certificate and I’m currently looking for further teaching opportunities.

I’ve taught guitar, bass and ukulele for over 10 years privately and at Copthorne Preparatory School and Dunnotar School.
I love passing on the musical skills and knowledge I’ve acquired from the past thirty years. I’ve helped students to pass their guitar examinations from grade one to grade six using the Rockschool syllabus.
I can also create customised lessons for students who don't want to do exams. I believe the best way to learn an instrument is by learning to play the music you love. If there's a song you want to learn, I'll help you play it.
I can teach students to play in most styles of guitar music as well as reading music and guitar tablature. I’ve taught absolute beginners as young as six, as well as adults.
Lessons can be one hour or half an hour long.
