About Kathleen
Spending 12 years teaching has taught me that the best technical growth happens when you balance structure with curiosity. Most people think guitar is just about dexterity, but it is actually about deep listening.
I hold a BMus Popular Music degree and use that foundation to bridge gaps between theory and performance. My students range from teens to busy professionals who want to play with real presence.
I specialize in BARRE CHORDS, STRUMMING PATTERNS, and complex improvisational work. My background covers everything from acoustic technique to the nuances of electric playing.
I enjoy helping people master soloing and reading tabs with clarity. Being a native Spanish speaker informs my rhythm and how I interpret musical phrasing. I often share my own stories of learning flamenco to keep things grounded. It is a genuine pleasure to witness students finding their voice on the fretboard.

Since you might be wondering where to start, we begin with a free trial session to assess your current level and musical goals. Sometimes the hardest part is identifying exactly which habits are holding you back. Using my 12 years of experience, we will look at how your physical posture impacts your sound. We can spend time on lead guitar mechanics or acoustic fingerstyle depending on what you prefer.
I keep the environment relaxed to ensure you feel comfortable exploring difficult techniques like improvisation. My BMus Popular Music degree ensures that every drill has a clear purpose.
We work through the basics of reading tabs while keeping the focus on expressive playing. You deserve an instructor who listens as much as they teach. I look forward to seeing what kind of music you want to create.
