About Phyllis
Bolero rhythms were the first sounds I ever learned to play on my instrument. Sometimes I still struggle to explain how these complex patterns feel natural to me after all this time. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music from AIM and have spent 13 years refining my craft.
My teaching approach centers on the traditions I grew up with like flamenco and chacarera. I have helped many adults and returning learners find their path back to music. Self-taught players often feel lost without a proper map to follow.
My goal is to provide that missing structure for you. Many hobbyists find my classes helpful for clearing up confusion about their progress. I have taught countless students over these 13 years. Reach out if you want to chat about your music.

Picking up the guitar should feel like a reward after a long day at the office. We sit down and find the exact spot where your hands feel most comfortable on the neck. I use my degree and years of experience to break down electric technique and barre chords.
You will master music theory, ear training, and reading tabs through my integrated approach. We move into improvisation and soloing once the foundation is solid. I offer a free trial session to assess your starting level immediately. Your progress toward these musical goals begins with that first discovery session.
