About Tessa
My journey as a guitarist began with a fascination for how music can tell stories and communicate emotions without words. This passion led me to complete a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Studies and later a Master of Music in Contemporary Guitar Performance. During my 8 years of teaching experience, I have helped students develop strong technical foundations while encouraging creative exploration. Teaching guitar allows me to share both musical knowledge and personal enthusiasm with learners.
I especially enjoy helping students use guitar as a tool for songwriting, musical storytelling, and artistic expression. Whether supporting melody writing, accompaniment techniques, or emotional interpretation, I encourage learners to connect personally with the music they create and perform. Students at all levels are guided toward expressing ideas through melody, harmony, rhythm, and dynamics in meaningful ways.
Outside teaching, I enjoy composing, performing, and exploring a wide variety of musical genres. These experiences help me bring creativity and real-world insight into every lesson. Seeing students gain confidence and develop their own musical voice is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I believe every guitarist has a unique story to tell, and I look forward to helping learners discover and share theirs through six strings.

My guitar lessons combine structure, creativity, and encouragement to help students develop both technical ability and musical confidence. I use storytelling, humor, and familiar musical examples to make lessons engaging and enjoyable. Students learn essential skills such as bending techniques, vibrato control, tone shaping, chord transitions, rhythmic accuracy, solo phrasing, and expressive performance. I believe learning becomes more effective when students understand how techniques connect to real music they enjoy. Every lesson is designed to make progress feel achievable and rewarding.
Lessons are tailored to individual needs and goals. Some students benefit from patient encouragement as they build confidence, while others seek deeper technical understanding and structured challenges. Beginners focus on foundational skills, chord development, and rhythm exercises. Intermediate learners strengthen improvisation, musical expression, and fretboard knowledge. Advanced students work on tone development, stylistic interpretation, solo construction, and stage confidence. Personalized feedback helps each learner continue progressing while maintaining motivation.
Music should be both educational and inspiring. My lessons help students develop technical skills while discovering their own musical identity. As learners gain confidence, they often become more expressive, creative, and comfortable performing for others. My goal is to create an environment where students feel supported, challenged, and excited about their musical growth every step of the way.
