About Isla

My interest in guitar began when I first listened to live performances that showcased how expressive and versatile the instrument could be. I became fascinated by the way simple chord progressions could create powerful musical moods and emotions. This curiosity encouraged me to study guitar more seriously, eventually leading me to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance.

Over the past 8 years, I have taught guitar to students with many different learning goals and musical interests. Some learners wanted to perform in bands or school music groups, while others simply wanted to learn the instrument for personal enjoyment. Teaching such a wide variety of students helped me develop flexible teaching methods that support steady progress.

My teaching approach focuses on patience, clear explanation, and encouraging creativity. I guide students through structured exercises while also helping them explore their own musical style. Helping learners develop confidence with the guitar and experience the joy of playing music is one of the most rewarding parts of my teaching career.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons are designed to help students develop both technical skill and musical confidence while learning this versatile instrument. The guitar allows students to explore rhythm, melody, and harmony all within a single instrument, which makes it an exciting choice for beginners and experienced musicians alike. In my lessons, students learn how to hold the instrument correctly, control finger placement, and understand how chords and melodies work together.

Each lesson usually begins with warm-up exercises that help students improve finger strength and coordination. Learners practice basic chords, simple strumming patterns, and rhythm exercises that help them understand timing and musical flow. These early exercises allow students to become comfortable with the instrument while gradually building the technical foundation needed for smooth playing.

As students continue improving, lessons expand to include learning songs, exploring chord progressions, and developing musical expression. Students also practice switching chords smoothly and experimenting with rhythm variations that create different musical styles. My goal is to help learners develop confidence with the guitar while enjoying the creative process of making music and expressing their ideas through sound.
