About Enguerrand
I’ve been giving lessons to two students for 2 years when I was living in Paris. Then to five students for 6 months when I was studying in Oxford. Back then it was my student job. Now it is my part-time job.
Each of my students progressed steadily:
Those with whom I worked for two years knew their chords and pentatonic scales (the most used scales in pop and rock music). Then also knew how to practice by themselves to keep on improving. They also knew how to improvise over a basic chord progression.
Those with whom I worked for six months where strong at rhythm accompaniment and they knew all their basic chords used in current modern music. They also went through the infamous step of learning those bar chords which give trouble to so many aspiring guitarists ;)

Hey :)
Welcome on my guitar lesson page. I’ve been a musician for 10 years and I love to share my passion for guitar and music in general. If you are an English-speaking person living in Nantes and wanting to learn guitar, you are in the right place.
My lessons are designed for learning guitarists from beginner to intermediate. Whether you want to learn acoustic or electric doesn’t matter. You just need to be eager to learn :)
My teaching method is really simple, the lessons consist in two parts: Music and Technique, 30 minutes of each.
Music: We’ll be working on a famous song of your choice, or a classic lick from your favourite style.
Ex: AC/DC « You shook me all night long » or a 12-bar blues using power chords.
Technique: as implied by its name, we’ll be covering every aspect of the technique here.
- Chords and Rhythm so that you can play and sing in the same time or accompany a singer
- Essential scales, triads and arpeggios
- Knowledge of the neck
- Improvisation method with two guitars (I’ll play the rhythm)
- Strength and dexterity finger exercises (finger workouts basically :) )
- Music theory (only If you want to learn it)
The guitar is a fascinating instrument, it can be an orchestra on its own, this aspect of the practice will teach you how to tame the guitar and understand the way it works. If this program seems overwhelming don’t worry, it’s the type of practice session you would use after a certain period of learning, we’ll start with a lighter one :)
We’ll write down everything so that we can track progress. I’ll give you tabs and recordings if needed.
Also, since I’m playing several other instruments. Piano, harmonica, bass, drum, I’ll be able to give you tips If somehow you want to try one of those. Finally, I’m a singer songwriter so I’d also be able to give you tips on those things.
