About Denise

I am Denise, a native German speaker and freelance language teacher for German as a foreign language.

Besides German (Native) and English, I am also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, which is extremely appreciated by students with background/knowledge of Romance languages and makes the exchange about different cultures particularly interesting.

I've been living abroad for the majority of my adult life. So I know how difficult it is to settle into a new culture and learn a new language. Living abroad has taught me patience with myself and others as well as motivational skills, which are important qualities as a teacher.

Besides my 10+ years of teaching experience working with renewed schools and students from all over the world with different backgrounds and motivations to learn German, my Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Sociology provides an excellent foundation for my pedagogical work to support students in their respective needs and adopt my lesson to their personal strengths and weaknesses.

About the lesson

I teach levels A1 (absolute beginners) upto C1 (professional business German) with 10+ years of experience and offer adults both 1:1 private lessons as well as group courses.

The goal of my lessons is to provide a safe space for the student to speak as much and as freely as possible to work on their expressions, pronunciation and confidence in speech and understanding.

We will converse about current topics and realistic daily interactions that will prepare you for a life in Germany.

Within the frame of a conversational class, we will pick up new vocabulary and grammar structures, which will be practised in class as well as through thematic homework.

My lessons are geared to student interests, needs and timings – from daily life German interactions to professional training for their respective careers.

Usually, a lesson is 60-90 minutes long and takes place fully online (Zoom, Skype, GoogleMeet).

I am available Monday-Friday for daytime as well as evening classes so that you can combine your language learning goals with your career and don't have to sacrifice one of the two.

I also offer specific exam preparation for Telc and Goethe certificates of all levels as well as for the naturalization test in Germany.
