About Ruth
My major instrument is clarinet, but I have played clarinet, flute, saxophone, and recorder professionally. I have been teaching for 35 years, and have taught at primary, secondary, and tertiary level, all of which I enjoy. I have a B.Ed in Creative Arts.

My teaching method varies according to age and personality, but is basically a combination of traditional teaching, playing by ear, learning to read music, and alternative notation. I use many different strategies depending on the situation. Humour plays a large part in my teaching.
