About Carolyn
As a published poet who recently enjoyed the opportunity to attend the Tupelo Perfect Seven conference, during which I, and about a dozen other writers, were able to discuss the mechanics and finer points of prosody and beautifully crafted verse, as well as the more nuts and bolts aspects of publication, I am well situated to advise and instruct students in both the scaffolding and proofreading of their own papers and creative writing, as well as applications and resumes.

I have a Master's degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Southern California where I was admitted on full Fellowship to their PhD program after having completed two different honors programs as an undergraduate after having been admitted a year early.
Comparative literature is a field that was established shortly after World War II and takes as the object of its focus literature, not only in English, but in other languages, as well. I specialized in French literature, have worked to translate French literature, and poetry into English, and was recently honored by having my poetry translated and published.
