About Jessica
Your first lesson starts with a simple strumming pattern that anchors the entire song. Music is physical movement before it becomes theory or reading sheet music. We work on your electric technique and ear training so you can actually hear what your fingers are doing. I take your personal song requests and turn them into simplified arrangements that work for your level.
Tuning and maintenance are also part of the routine because an instrument that stays in tune is an instrument that gets played. I bring my 13 years of experience to ensure you are not just memorizing finger placements. We build a foundation that honors the nuance of the original compositions.
This is not about robotic repetition. It is about understanding the soul of the rhythm. Vámonos to the music.

Guadalajara smells like rain on hot stone and the sound of a nylon string guitar echoes in my childhood memory. Growing up there taught me that music is a conversation that never ends.
I moved to Australia to refine my craft and eventually earned a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music specializing in guitar. Those 13 years of playing and performing have shaped a very specific way of hearing sound.
My teaching is built on the reality that Latin music is not a set of notes but a pulse you live in your body. I combine my knowledge of guitar technique with a deep respect for the vocal tradition. Working with teens and absolute beginners keeps my own perspective fresh and grounded. Let us find that groove together in the spirit of the nueva canción.
