I have a strong track record of teaching students of all ability ranges and have previously tutored and ran a successful science tutoring company.
I am a friendly, approachable and supportive tutor, working quickly to identify areas of weakness and refine exam technique so that students can maximise their outcomes in assessments.
I am an expert in AQA GCSE biology and chemistry, taking triple science groups in both subjects. In my last chemistry group, 95% of students achieved a grade of 7+ in a mixed comprehensive school, with 5 grade 9's.
A typical lesson would be an hour, whereby we would catch up, discuss baseline understanding on a science topic, then build from surface to deep knowledge on that topic area. We would then do some GCSE practice questions to assess understanding and if further work is required. Future tutor sessions would revisit previous learning to ensure that it is embedded.
