About Paola

I have been learning (and teaching!) BSL since my deaf daughter was born in 2021. It has been a need for me to learn this beautiful language, to communicate with our daughter and ensure she wasn't language deprived. Fast forward to 3 years later and she's a beautiful and confident signer. I have immersed myself in the Deaf community, made Deaf friends that are supportive in my learning journey.
Yes, learning a signed language isn't easy, but it's fun I promise! Whether it's for communicating with your child, a friend or a family member, or for work purposes, you will develop lots of new skills (which will also look good on your CV!) Give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

About the lesson

I deliver basic BSL training to children (pre-school) and adults, whether they are medical students or nursery staff, or caregivers (family members who have a deaf child/children). At present I only offer online lessons which are tailored to your needs.
I hold a Signature Level 2 qualification and currently a level 3 student. I also have an enhanced DBS so I can work with children.
I have 16 years of experience working in the NHS in management and leading roles and I am very friendly, understanding and supportive.
I also hold a Master Degree in clinical psychology and I am a very good listener and able to understand people's needs and challenges.
