being a design guy I believe in exploring any subject on own and by one's own term . a subject is best understood when you as a learner have curiosity and questions of your own, rather than someone forcing you to solve questions that may then seem to be irrelevant and boring. so my teaching technique would be to encourage you to ask questions to yourself and bring up more questions . this is when you will get the most of the subject.
