My approach to teaching is to provide visual aid for revision. It is important to make sure that the student is fully engaged and that their interests are sustained throughout the lesson.
Lessons should also cover essay writing support to help the student achieve their desired grades. This can be provided at the end of each topic. I will show examples of what makes an excellent essay and help the student absorb these skills.
A typical lesson should last an hour and 30 minutes.
The first hour and 15 minutes should cover content.
The final 15 minutes should be focused on interactive revision.
I have a first class degree in English and have A grades in both English and History at A-level. I have tutored at GCSE level (year 10- year 11) but am able to provide support for A-level students as well.
