About Lauren

My passion is to help students succeed in their education. I have been tutoring students of all ages (mostly in mathematics) for the last 15 years. I have an Elementary Education degree as well as highly certified in Math and History for grades k-12. I have taught math for the last 13 years from 7th grade to 11th grade in a public school. I got my undergraduate and graduate degree from The University of Mississippi. My Master's degree is in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Special Education. Math is my passion. I love it and it is my goal to help students understand it and come to love it too. My belief is that all children can learn. I believe that children learn in different ways and at different paces. As a teacher, I use a wide variety of strategies and materials in order to meet the needs and learning styles of all my students. I look for ways to challenge my students at all ability levels, to extend their thinking, and stretch beyond where they think they can go in terms of learning and achievement. Outside of teaching/tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting my 2 children in all their sports. I look forward to helping each of you reach your goals!

About the lesson

I teach to the students needs. I know each student is unique and learns at different paces and in different styles. I have been told many times that I am great at breaking down the material in a way that students can understand it. I have a passion for math and do whatever it takes to insure all my students can understand it and apply it.
