I start my classes with the lesson plan. I outline what aims we will achieve and how we will do so, together. Next I move onto an example question of the topic worked through by me, explain each step and asking if students have any questions. Then we will do a question together, my student doing a step followed by myself doing a step. Finally, with lots of positivity and encouragement my student will try a question all on their own with myself at the ready to answer any questions. After a few different repeats of this process we will go back to the lesson plan and reflect on the goals we have achieved!
