About Victoria
I graduated from the University of Ottawa Faculty of Education in 2009, where I developed strong skills in designing engaging and authentic learning experiences. Prior to this, I completed an Honors Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Second Language Teaching (Didactiques des langues secondes), providing a strong foundation in effective instructional strategies for language learners.
During my studies, I worked for three years as a French Language Monitor with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, supporting students in several elementary and middle schools. This experience confirmed my passion for teaching and working with youth.
I later taught Grade 7 and 8 French Immersion at Emily Carr Middle School, where I taught French, History, Geography, and Health/Physical Education. Prior to this, I taught French Immersion (Science, History, and Geography) and Core French at Huntley Centennial Public School for three years. These roles allowed me to support diverse learners and strengthen my skills in differentiated instruction, assessment, and inclusive teaching.
While living in Kyiv, Ukraine, where my spouse worked with the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, I taught English at The British International School Kyiv and IB French at Kyiv International School, working with students aged 8 to 18. These experiences allowed me to collaborate with international colleagues and contribute to inquiry-based and globally minded learning.
I am currently teaching French Immersion to Grade 7 and 8 students at Cedarview Middle School, where I continue to integrate critical thinking and student-centered learning on a daily basis.
My experiences in both Canadian and international contexts have shaped me into a reflective and adaptable educator. I look forward to contributing my instructional, collaborative, and cross-cultural skills to my students here.

I have extensive teaching experience across all grade levels—primary, middle, and secondary—as well as experience teaching adults in both French and English. Over the past 18 years, I have taught English and French to children aged 3 to 18. In addition, I have successfully tutored many adults preparing for English and French language examinations required to maintain their government positions.
I am certified in DELF/DALF and have both obtained my certification and administered examinations for high school students here in Canada.
My experience also includes teaching in French Immersion programs and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. I have taught a variety of subjects in French, including History, Geography, Science, Health, and the Arts. I am IB-trained and certified.
My teaching approach is flexible and student-centered. I tailor my lessons to meet the individual needs, learning styles, and goals of each student.
With both local and international teaching experience, along with a strong focus on bilingual education in English and French, I bring a well-rounded skill set that enables me to support students effectively in achieving their language learning goals.
