About Jackwelyne

I have an Associates in engineering and am currently working on a degree in Electronic Engineering. I am also a part time writer. In the past I've tutored in algebra, calculas, java, c/c++, engineering graphics with solidworks, and writing. These days I mostly freelance but I have worked on campus as well.

About the lesson

I prefer to start with the basics just to get an idea of where to start. If the student isn't quite sure where they're getting lost my second step includes a bit of quizzing with me either going over the work afterwards or following along. Once I have a grasp of the students learning style my next step is to break the problem into smaller more understandable parts. This might include changing the problem to be more relevant towards the real world. However depending on the student they may find it easier to apply the concept in a much simpler form to a concept they're already proficient with.
Others find it easiest if I do an example problem with clearly labeled steps to use aa a guideline. Once they're capable of doing it with my help I step back and let them try it on their own. If they're still struggling, depending on whether or not its a different part of the problem, I may repeat the steps focusing on that particular part or try another teaching approach.
For the most part my teaching style is very adaptive around the student. I myself struggled with having different learning styles from teachers and always try my best to accommodate to the students needs.

Jon is an excellent student. Always prepared for lessons and consistent in putting in that extra study time. One thing I could recommend is spending a little time before starting each program putting together an algorithm or a game plan to make that step by step process a little easier. I am very proud of the work he put in.
