About Rima
Rima | Fun & Personalized Mandarin Tutor for Kids (Ages 6-12) Hi! I’m Rima — a caring, creative Mandarin tutor who teaches kids through play, curiosity, and connection. I work with children aged 6 to 12, and my classes are filled with drawing, storytelling, sentence-building, and conversations in Mandarin — not just memorization. My students don’t just “study” Chinese — they use it to talk about their world, from castles and somersaults to pets and family. I currently teach a Year 3 student and it’s the highlight of my week. I love watching kids grow in confidence while having fun with language!

I offer fun, structured Mandarin lessons for children aged 6-12. Each lesson follows a personalized learning plan designed to build your child’s confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I focus on practical vocabulary that children can use to talk about their world — from family, pets, and food to castles, doctors, and backflips! Lessons are creative and engaging, with a balance of conversation, storytelling, drawing, games, and gentle writing practice. I believe children learn best when they’re having fun and feel seen, so I always follow their curiosity while guiding them through a clear weekly plan. Tones, sentence structure, and Pinyin are introduced naturally, and writing is taught in a calm, encouraging way with tracing and stroke logic. After each session, your child will receive a small amount of meaningful homework to reinforce what we’ve learned. Progress is tracked, and parents are welcome to receive feedback anytime. I recommend one lesson per week to build consistency and retention. However, if your child is preparing for a short-term goal (e.g. school support or moving countries), we can adjust the pace together. Mandarin learning should be joyful, expressive, and confidence-building — and that’s exactly what I aim to offer in every class.
