About Jacob
I have spent the last four years maintaining Honors grades in rigorous college coursework, currently a 4.0 senior student at UCLA in Integrative Biology and Physiology. I have a passion for learning and teaching which has led me to apply for research and PhD programs to pursue learning and teaching at the highest level. Concurrently with private tutoring in high-school and college, I've spent 15+ years playing and coaching sports, as well as 4+ years as a personal trainer and nutritionist. I'm here to make science fun, simple, and accessible. It took me a while to fully develop my passion and skill for science, and I think most students can unlock their understanding and passion through relating and distilling science to the life processes we all share. SCIENCE DOESN'T NEED TO BE DRY.
I can work with College, High-school, and Middle-school students. In sciences ranging from Physics and Chemistry, to Physiology and Biology.
Lessons will cover:
1) The big picture of the subject matter.
This establishes relevance and preps your mental palette.
2) Breaking the subject into bit-sized pieces that flow naturally.
3) Summarizing and reviewing throughout and at the end of lesson to ensure comprehension.

Jacob was a great instructor. He was very knowledgeable, articulate and patient. Biology seemed like a dense subject at first, but I grew interest in it through learning with Jacob. Jacob is a great teacher for his ability to communicate complicated subjects in a multitude of ways. Everyone has their own styles of learning and Jacob is a fantastic communicator to find what works best for everyone.
