About Margarita

Hola! I was born and raised in the United States. Arlington, Virginia to be exact, very close to the capital! For the last 9 years though, I've lived in the great city of Philadelphia . With Latin parents, my first language growing up was Spanish. This has proven to be very helpful as more and more people and job settings need bilingual speakers. Apart from teaching in the classroom, I am frequently called upon to provide rapid and simultaneous interpretation. Spanish is such a fun and useful language and it is my pleasure to teach anyone willing to learn! (:

About the lesson

When teaching Spanish it is important to build on the knowledge and ideas a student already has; making connections and using storytelling and musical techniques ensures the understanding and retainment of the new language. A firm yet enjoyable atmosphere is of utmost importance. Typically, my lessons are of one hour a few days a week but I am flexible in this regard. I have eight years of experience in the school setting, teaching students of the ages of four to fourteen. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and hope to share this passion with others!
