As an IB student, I currently hold an 89% overall in biology and maintain a 92% overall academic average, which means I have a deep, thorough understanding of the material we will be covering together. That being said, I want to be completely upfront with you: this is my first time formally tutoring someone! While I believe I am qualified on the academic side, I am approaching this opportunity with the utmost seriousness and professionalism. Biology can feel like trying to memorize a whole new language (seriously, what do haploid and diploid mean?!). If you're feeling overwhelmed by endless terms and heavy textbooks, I completely get it because I’ve been there myself. As an IB student, I used to struggle with the exact same thing until I realized that rote memorization just doesn’t work. Since I’m a visual learner, I had to get creative with how I studied. I stopped staring at walls of text and started utilizing the images I was given as well as diagrams and clever memory tricks to actually understand how life works. Now, I’m here to share those exact tools with middle school and high school students who need a boost in general science and biology, whether you are prepping for a major exam or just trying to survive your weekly assignments.
When you work with me, the lesson is entirely dedicated to your specific needs and whatever is stressing you out that week. We don't have to follow a specific routine; instead, we start by pinpointing exactly what concepts you find difficult and break them down together. I don't want this to feel like a strict tutoring session where you just get lectured at. Think of it more like a friend sitting down to chat about what we learned and what we need to work on, making the science feel approachable and easy to digest. We can go entirely at your own pace, and we can absolutely take breaks whenever your brain needs a rest so you never feel overloaded.
