About Celia
Hello! I'm a prospective nursing student with a passion for science and a natural inclination to help others. During my time in college, I often tutored my peers and even mentored a 3rd grader in high school. As someone who struggled with traditional classroom learning, I developed various techniques to help me understand the material. These techniques included drawing and mapping out concepts, creating metaphors and analogies, using mnemonics, finding online resources and videos, and incorporating colors and art to make the material more engaging.
My goal is to help students feel more confident in their abilities and leave our sessions equipped with long-term tools for their educational journey. I'm happy to tutor students of all backgrounds, ages, races, religions, genders, and abilities. Teaching is a passion of mine, and I'm excited to help others succeed!

I am very passionate about science and helping others understand the complex nature that is human biology. I work hard to learn what works and what doesn't for each student and adapt accordingly. I find visual learning to be very effective and I use various tools including PowerPoints, videos, mnemonics, and metaphors, and use familiar terms and experiences to make a complex idea more understandable.
A typical tutoring lesson would start with dissecting what the student needs more help with and where they are at in their understanding of the material. I will set a "game plan" for the session to set us up for success and then go topic by topic breaking down as much information as the student needs, all while utilizing various teaching methods. I will consistently check in to ensure the student is gaining the knowledge they need from the session. I am also happy to make homework for them to have more practice outside of the session, as well as find more resources for them to use.
I am open to tutoring people of all ages and all grades.
