About Tessa
I got out of high school with a 85 in English (along with a 98 on the provincial exam) and a 92 in essentials math. I also got a 97 in pre-calculus in grade 11.
I tell you this not to gloat, but to show how much I know the subjects. I also write in my free time and am always up to do math questions.
I enjoy teaching as well, and am hoping to get my childcare assistant certificate by October of this year. I work well with others and have always bee good at teaching - my friend who likely would've struggled a lot more in math without me can testify.

I try to personalize the lessons. Everyone learns differently, and although I learnt well from my teachers, I know some people need it differently. I strive to teach how my students need to be taught, not as everyone typically is.
On a first meeting, I'd start by getting to know the student, asking questions about how they are, what they like to do, so we can become comfortable, then we'll start slow. Start with what knowledge the student has first before diving deeper and working on the harder stuff.
I prefer elementary to middle schoolers, but I can work with high schoolers as well! I did just get out of there, after all.
