About Nandini

Hi! My name is Nandini and I am a high school senior in Virginia preparing to graduate with an IB Diploma. Through high school, I have completed three years of college level science courses, including two years of IB Higher Level (HL) Biology, which has given me a strong academic foundation in biology and related sciences.

In the fall, I will be attending the College of William & Mary to study Data Science and Finance. My academic background reflects my dedication and passion for learning, qualities I bring into every tutoring session. I love working with students of all ages and abilities, and I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can ask questions and build confidence. As a recent student myself, I understand how to connect with younger learners and explain concepts in ways that are engaging and easy to understand.

About the lesson

I am passionate about helping students build confidence in Biology. I tutor students from elementary through early high school (grades 3-10), adapting each lesson to the student's age and learning style.

I break down topics into simple explanations and love using diagrams and interactive assignments to learn material. A typical lesson with me begins by reviewing previous material and identifying any areas of difficulty. From there, we work through new concepts step by step, practice with guided questions or worksheets, and finish with a recap to help gain retention.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my patient and supportive teaching style. I am committed to helping students feel comfortable asking questions, and believe every student can succeed in science when concepts are explained the right way. I have years of experience tutoring high schoolers in multiple core subjects, have worked two summers as an assistant art teacher, and have spent three years volunteering and teaching children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) at a local organization. As a soon-to-be high school graduate, I connect easily with younger students and understand how to keep lessons engaging for kids and teenagers.

My lessons are ideal for students in grades 3-10 studying general biology, life science, introductory health science, or preparing for school tests and quizzes. Whether a student needs extra support, wants to improve their grades, or is simply interested in learning more about Biology, I'm here to help them succeed!
