About Josh
I am Josh! I have been a certified secondary math teacher for 22 years. I have taught a wide range of courses, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, College Algebra, and Statistics. My experience extends beyond secondary education, as I have also worked with elementary students during summer school, helping to build a strong mathematical foundation at an early age. I also work with any age student in my community to get ahead in math or to get caught up. I teach a statistics course for a major university, allowing me to engage with students at the college level and deepen their understanding of data analysis and probability.

I have the experience and depth of knowledge to meet students where they are and help them to grow. I use a scaffolding approach with my students. First, we learn the patterns that are present in the level of math we are working on. Then we practice the skills to help better recognize the patterns to be able to solve the problems successfully. Finally, we go deeper and learn the application of the math.
