Hey! If you’re reading this, you’re probably a future student of mine, so welcome! Let me tell you a bit about myself. I’m Sophie, a grade 11 student currently studying in Canada. I’ve been teaching for four years now, and have tutored over 15 people by this point, of all school ages. Don’t worry if you’re scared of having a tutor - I’m a very friendly and open person - no judgment here! Coming from a former C- student who decided to get their life together, I understand what it’s like to need some extra help outside of school. The system nowadays doesn’t cater to individual needs, and I totally get that, which is why I’m here to help. I can guarantee you, working with me will definitely boost your grades and give you that push you need to get ahead of your classmates and friends. I look forward to working with you! About the lesson

Hi! I’m Sophie, a high school student currently in grade 11, teaching all subjects to kids 14 and younger. I have four years and counting of experience tutoring fellow classmates and kids in elementary and middle school. I teach ages 5-14, in all core subjects; -Math -Science -Social Studies -English And I also help with general life assistance, like helping your child decide their path into high school and further. I can confidently say each one of the people I tutor has seen a massive spike in their grades, academic and personal confidence, and willingness to study. One student came to me after failing their finals, and by the end of that year, they were top of their class. My work speaks for itself. My teaching methods take a personalized and clear approach. I find each child’s needs and wants, and I create personalized lesson plans, tests, and assignments for each person I tutor. I also help with homework from school or outside lessons, study for tests, and building good study and academic habits. I’m also often considered a guiding role in some of the children I tutor, and I know many look to me for stability and guidance in their personal life as well. A typical lesson would begin with simple inquiries and small talk - I like to make sure my students feel safe and understood before beginning a lesson. Then, we would move on to the day’s material - whether or not they have homework to do, a test to study for, or rely on me for extra material- the rest of the lesson is spent working. The final few minutes are spent wrapping up, assigning homework, and giving final reminders. Being someone with siblings, I have a lot of patience and experience dealing with younger children, and being a teenager myself, I often find it easy to interact with those going into both middle and high school. Rest assured, you or your child will be in good hands. I prefer teaching online - it is a personal preference of mine. However, if you or your child’s learning needs are required in person, I would be willing to arrange some in-person lessons. The first class is always free - I insist that the first class is always spent for me to get to know the student I am about to tutor, as well as introduce myself to the parent or guardian. Any other classes after that will be paid for and can be arranged accordingly, but if you end up thinking maybe your child would prefer another option, feel free to let me know.
