About Arthur
Hi, my name is Arthur, and my love for music defines me as a person. I started playing piano at the age of four and began to compete in major competitions at six years old, playing at Carnegie Hall for the first time at just seven years old. But the thing is, the competitions all piled up and I forgot what the love of music was. That's why when I entered third grade I started playing the alto saxophone along with piano and I loved it. I didn't have to worry about practicing for 3 hours a day, it just came naturally because I actually enjoyed music. Eventually, I switched over entirely and met a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra whom I have been studying under ever since. My love for music expanded to my voice too as I joined the esteemed Philadelphia Boys Choirs going on numerous out-of-country tours. I will always love music, but I feel not enough people get to truly feel the joy of learning an instrument the right way, so I hope to teach more people the basics and inspire them to pursue their passion.

These lessons will be for completely or relatively new alto saxophone players.
I have seen far too many talented musicians lose their passion for music because of a poor introduction to fundamentals, thus barring them from enjoying music as it was meant to be enjoyed.
I will teach the most fundamental basics of the alto saxophone that has helped to propel me but were unfortunately overlooked by early teachers.
A typical introductory lesson would begin with work on breathing and embouchure. Next would come some work on fingering through scales/note reading. Then I would introduce you to a simple piece to learn together and to practice on your own.
Once you are more advanced, we would look through the songs that you would like to work on and/or some basic songs. Subsequently, we would end the class with a bit of a jam sesh: easy alto saxophone jazz.
