About Henry
I have 4 years of tutoring experience. Most of that time was tutoring different types of math and natural sciences. I was a Teaching Assistant for a high school French class for one month in between college semesters. I studied French grades 6-12, and lived in Francophone-immersive housing my 2nd year of college. I have studied Brazilian Portuguese since 2014 and I spent 4 months in Brazil in 2015.

With new students, I start by asking them their level in the language, I ask if they have any specific goals for their language learning (short and/or long term goals). Depending on their goals my approach differs. For example if someone only wants to learn some basic phrases, how to order food etc. I am more likely to teach them and break down a dialogue, whereas with a student who wants to eventually become fluent, I would review more grammar and verb conjugations. I have a French textbook and a Portuguese textbook that I may use material from. I make sure to provide writing as well as speaking/audio for all words and phrases.
