About Geoffrey

Dr. Geoff’s qualifications include a Master of Education (TESOL) with distinction, Graduate Certificate (TESOL) and CELTA. He also holds a degree in Dental Surgery. Geoff has considerable experience teaching academic English programs and preparation for entrance into Australian, British and US universities; he has taught EAP and ESL students in both Australia and Asia. Furthermore, he has experience as a certified IELTS examiner and teaches IELTS preparation from elementary to advanced levels. Geoff has a particular interest in EAP curriculum development and is active in developing new courses for academic writing, preparation for overseas study and IELTS grammar. His students give consistently positive feedback in both academic and personal terms. Geoff’s communicative and personable approach engages students and motivates them to become proactive in their own learning process. About the lesson

I offer classes for academic writing/skills and IELTS preparation. Depending on their needs, students will learn how to:
• use the grammar necessary for academic and IELTS writing.
• communicate knowledge, understanding and critical analysis in sentences, paragraphs and academic essays.
• write Tasks 1 and 2 in the IELTS test.
• improve their language skills for the three parts of the IELTS speaking test.

I strongly believe in active learning, and my lessons are always student centred. My aim is to empower students helping them to attain their academic goals and required IELTS score. Our free introductory meeting will look at your learning needs. I can then structure a plan and materials to help you achieve a successful outcome.
