About Bartosz

I study History, Government and Politics and Psychology A-Levels. All three require extensive writing under timed conditions and reading which greatly improved the complexity of my written English. As a casual writer and an avid reader I believe I have a good amount of experience with sophisticated writing making me a quality candidate for passing on my skills. As an immigrant who was thrown into an English school at the age of 5 I was forced to adapt and catch up with fellow students who were far ahead of me in terms of their abilities giving me firsthand knowledge and experience of being a student who might be struggling with his English or might be wanting to improve it beyond his colleagues. A two week work experience at a primary school gave me insight into interacting with children and introduced me to a working environment which was friendly towards them. My lack of experience and young age might alarm you however, I believe that my life long experience with the English language made me develop a passion for it and my demanding academic undertakings combined with my brief experience in the educational sector make me a quality candidate for tutoring young students willing to improve their written expression.

About the lesson

Written expression is an area which allows for immense flexibility with lessons as it is not a set subject with a strict content requirement or a limited path for lessons. My strategy is to assess the student's writing and reading abilities (yes reading, because reading is the best way to advance your writing and a strong reader will almost always be a strong writer). After this we will be able to break down the student's samples and identify the issues with it allowing us to improve upon those issues.

The key to developing complex written communication is through challenging the student through writing/reading at a higher level than the student is comfortable at so that they can attempt more complex writing whilst directly addressing mistakes along the way.

Though I would be comfortable with working with a range of abilities these lessons are aimed at students who have a basic understanding of English and a high capacity to learn because as much as I believe my qualifications would make me an effective written expression tutor I am aware of my limitations to the point at which I know I cannot teach students with learning disabilities as such a task would require qualifications which I do not possess.
