About Antonio

I chose to study a Master's degree in Secondary Education because I strongly believe in the power of education to build informed citizens who can make a positive impact on society and become confident individuals capable of thinking critically about important issues. I want to give every student the opportunity to achieve their goals and believe in their own abilities. In my view, education is one of the most powerful tools we have to create opportunities, develop confidence, and live a fulfilling life.
Over the years, I have worked as a tutor, soccer coach, and swimming coach with schools and young people of different ages. These experiences have strengthened my passion for working with teenagers and helping them succeed, both academically and personally. I genuinely enjoy supporting students as they overcome challenges, discover their strengths, and develop confidence in their abilities.
I am particularly passionate about sharing knowledge and inspiring curiosity, especially in Science and Biology. I believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and connected to the real world. My goal is not simply to help students achieve better grades, but also to help them develop a passion for learning and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
I would describe myself as enthusiastic, patient, empathetic, and approachable, while also maintaining high expectations for my students. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves. I believe that with the right guidance, encouragement, and learning strategies, every student can achieve far more than they initially think possible.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is based on the idea that every student learns differently. For this reason, I tailor each lesson to the student's learning needs, current skill level, strengths, and goals. Some students need additional support to build confidence and strengthen their foundations, while others benefit from extension activities that challenge them to think more deeply and reach their full potential.
For Science and Biology, I use material aligned with the South Australian and Australian Curriculum, ensuring that lessons support what students are learning at school while also preparing them for assessments and exams. Rather than focusing only on memorisation, I help students understand concepts, make connections between topics, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
I also use a multimodal approach to teaching, meaning that concepts can be explained through diagrams, visuals, videos, discussions, practical examples, written activities, and questioning techniques. This allows me to adapt lessons to different learning styles and keep students engaged throughout the session.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long (can be flexible), although longer sessions can be arranged when preparing for important assessments or examinations.
Alongside my studies, I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and a supportive, student-centred teaching approach.

Science (up to Year 10)
Italian (all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced learners)

My goal is not only to improve academic results but also to help students become more confident, independent, and motivated learners who enjoy the learning process.
