About Eleanor
Clear and hands-on teaching defines my style. I transitioned from a professional career at Atlassian and Canva to part-time tutoring after 7 years of building software.
My expertise covers arithmetic and number sense, algebra, competition math prep, SAT/ACT math prep, mensuration, mental math, calculus, exam preparation, conceptual learning, and homework help. I typically assist VCE and HSC students or adults looking to switch careers by using a patient approach that values deep understanding over rote memorization. Grades often suffer because students focus on finding the answer instead of understanding the underlying pattern. I fix this by using mock tests with error analysis before exams to build your confidence and accuracy. Since I have taught 210 students, I recognize exactly where you might get stuck during a calculation. We move through algebra or calculus problems while talking through the logic as if we were debugging a software project.
This helps you see the math as a system rather than a list of rigid rules. My background in engineering informs how I explain complex variables and functions to you. If you are preparing for a major assessment, we will simulate the exam environment to ensure you are ready.
