About Belinda
# About Me
Hi, I'm Belinda, an experienced and passionate educator with over 25 years of experience in NSW public education.
Throughout my career, I've worked as a classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, Instructional Leader, Deputy Principal and Relieving Principal. These roles have given me extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, building teacher expertise and helping children develop the skills and confidence to succeed.
I hold a **Master of Education (Educational Leadership)** and a **Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood)**, bringing together a strong understanding of how children learn with practical, evidence-based teaching strategies.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is seeing that moment when something finally clicks for a student. I believe learning should be engaging, achievable and rewarding, and that every child deserves to feel successful.
Having worked with students across a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs, I understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education. I take the time to get to know each student, identify their strengths and challenges, and adapt my teaching to suit them.
As a parent myself, I also understand the challenges families face when balancing school, homework, extracurricular activities and everyday life. This inspired me to establish Wilson Study House, offering individual tutoring and Homework Hangout, a small-group homework support program designed to make learning and homework less stressful for families.
My approach is warm, patient and encouraging, while maintaining high expectations and a strong focus on developing independent, confident learners.
**My goal is simple: to help students feel capable, build confidence and experience success, both in the classroom and beyond.**

About My Lessons: Homework Hangout
Take the stress out of homework with Homework Hangout!
Homework Hangout is a small-group homework support program designed to help students complete their schoolwork, build confidence and develop independent learning skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Led by an experienced NSW teacher with over 25 years in education, each session provides structured guidance and individual attention within a small group of no more than four students.
How Does Homework Hangout Work?
Students bring their own homework, assignments or school learning tasks. During each session, I work alongside students to help them understand instructions, overcome challenges and develop strategies to complete their work independently.
Each 90-minute session focuses on:
Homework Support: Guidance with school homework across a range of subjects.
Assignment Assistance: Breaking down tasks, understanding expectations and planning responses.
Literacy and Numeracy: Reinforcing essential skills as needed.
Organization and Time Management: Helping students prioritize tasks and manage their workload.
Confidence and Independence: Encouraging students to think critically, solve problems and take responsibility for their learning.

Unlike traditional one-on-one tutoring, Homework Hangout offers the benefits of a small-group learning environment while still providing personalized teacher support.
With a maximum of four students, everyone has opportunities to ask questions, receive feedback and work at their own pace.
