About Luna
I am incredibly fascinated with Zoology and Wildlife Biology, and I would love to share my passion with potential students and aid them in discovering the career field of wildlife and conservation. I recently graduated (class of 2024) from Colorado State University (CSU) Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Zoology with Honors Distinction. Currently as an aspiring large carnivore ecology and behavior researcher, I am trying to find opportunities to share my interest in this career field with younger students. I myself did not realize the possibility of working in a wildlife setting since I grew up in Beijing, China before moving to the U.S during high school. I didn't have any mentors when I was younger to introduce me to this world, and so now as someone slowly finding my way in the wildlife career world, I would like to share all I know with anyone who may be interested. As a tutor, I would like to help those who are interested in the Zoology/Wildlife Biology world succeed in academia, so they can go on to achieve greatness in their future professional career!

My tutoring session is 100% tailored to each individual, and customizable for each student to fulfill their needs. From a lecture to a review session, from helping you with homework or assignments to preparing for an exam, I will help you with any aspect of your academic career. My teaching method is hands-on and interactive where I will help you learn how to effectively digest academic material so you can become more independent when it comes to tackling new concepts. I will guide you as a teacher, but will also give you studying techniques and job searching tips as a recently graduated student to help you succeed in both taking exams and preparing for a future career. Besides academic tutoring, I can help you with brainstorming a potential career, writing a resume/cover letter, building your professional online presence (LinkedIn, Handshake, Indeed, etc.), and introducing you to various job boards in the field of Biology, Zoology, and Wildlife Conservation. I am confident in tutoring high school level Biology (Honors Biology or AP Biology) as well as college level Biology and Zoology courses. For college level, I can tutor any basic level introductory biology courses (General Biology or Life classes). For college level Zoology courses, here is a list of classes I can tutor for: - Introductory Evolution - Introductory Ecology - Animal Biology: Invertebrates or Vertebrates - General Genetics - Biological Diversity - Animal Behavior (Animal Behavior and Conservation) I am also bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and will teach those who want an introduction to the Mandarin language. I will also tutor high school level Mandarin Chinese. For those in college thinking about studying abroad, I can provide guidance and suggestions to different programs and can aid in your search for the right program for you. During my college career, I studied abroad three times in three different programs/countries, and therefore I have a tremendous amount of experience when it comes to studying abroad. Please see my experiences below: 1) Faculty-led Education Abroad Program: “Cultural Studies in Japan” in Southern Japan January 2024 - Completed coursework in expanding current understandings of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture through first-hand experiential learning of Japanese culture. 2) The School for Field Studies Program: "Wildlife Management Studies" in Tanzania, East Africa September - December 2022 - Through this study abroad program, I completed coursework in Wildlife Ecology, Techniques in Wildlife Management, focusing on major academic themes such as African large mammal ecology, wildlife and community-based conservation, human-wildlife conflict, and climate change impacts. I also studied Swahili Language and East African Tribal Communities, and Environmental Policy and Socioeconomic Values. - At the end of the program, I also completed a Directed Research project titled: The Impacts of Covid-19 on Local Small-Scale Tourism-Based Enterprises near Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Parks, Northern Tanzania. 3) Honors Faculty-led Education Abroad Program: “Communication in Rome” in Rome, Italy July – August 2022 - Completed coursework titled “Cinematic Rome” in understanding critically acclaimed films that feature Roman landmarks, specifically learning of important film movements in Italy. - Completed coursework titled “Bridging Cultures: Italy/USA” in gaining practical skills in the areas of intercultural and cross-cultural communication, and connecting American culture to Italian culture.
