About Bayley
Hello! I’m a dedicated tutor with over three years of experience offering math tutoring in Grades 1 through 8. I began my university studies in engineering at the University of Waterloo, but followed my passion into the social sciences and humanities. I will be graduating with an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree this June and am an incoming law student. This academic path, alongside my practical experience, has strengthened both my subject knowledge and my ability to break down complex concepts into clear, understandable steps. Whether you or your child is learning the basics of addition and subtraction, building confidence with fractions and decimals, or starting to tackle algebra, I’m here to help.
Here’s how I structure my lessons:
1. Preparation Ahead of Time
I ask that you let me know what you’d like to work on before our scheduled session. Even a little notice helps me prepare so that so we can make the most of our time together.
2. Adapted to Your Learning Style
Everyone approaches math differently. Whether my student is a visual, auditory, or hands-on learner—or a mix—I do my best to adapt each lesson to my student's learning style and, when possible, interests.
3. Building Confidence
Math can be challenging, but it’s also a skill that gets stronger with understanding and practice. I focus on helping students understand the how and why behind each concept, so they can build the confidence to solve problems on their own.
