About Tiarna
I have just graduated from university with a degree in English Literature and Creative writing. I completed my Bachelors degree to a 2.1 Honours standard. I am from Ireland but studied at the University of Kent in England- a university which ranks within the top 15 in the UK. I moved to Brisbane in November 2018. I have previously tutored students ranging from ages 13-18.

I like to base lessons around a plan and find that it's beneficial to have both short and long term goals. For example, a long term goal may be to become more proficient in writing clear and coherent texts/essays. A short term goal for one or two lessons, which would contribute to the success of the long term goal, would be to focus on developing vocabulary. The next short term goal might be to build skills related to punctuation and grammar. We might then focus on sentence structure.
This way we are breaking one large and perhaps seemingly insurmountable task into several smaller objectives, creating a continual sense of achievement and progress whilst ensuring the pupils firm and all rounded understanding of any given topic/area.
