About Jessica

Hi, I’m Jessica — a high-achieving HSC Advanced English graduate (99%) with a strong academic and creative background in writing and communication.
I have completed a degree in International Studies and Business, majoring in Management and Communications, which has further strengthened my ability to communicate ideas clearly, think critically, and write with precision. Alongside my academic studies, I actively practice creative writing and short story development, allowing me to bring both analytical and creative depth to my teaching.

Over the years, I have also attended multiple writing courses and workshops to refine my writing style — not just academically, but creatively. This means I can help students develop essays that are not only technically strong, but also engaging, original, and sophisticated.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Jessica — I achieved 99% in HSC Advanced English and now help students turn English from a stressful subject into a strength.

My approach is very strategy-focused. Most students are taught what to write, but not how to think. I break English down into clear, repeatable systems — from essay structures and thesis building to sophisticated text analysis — so students know exactly how to produce Band 6 responses under exam conditions.

Lessons are tailored to each student, but typically include:
Breaking down exemplar Band 6 responses
Building adaptable essay frameworks (so you’re never memorising blindly)

Line-by-line feedback on your writing
Teaching you how to write with clarity, sophistication and confidence under time pressure

I focus heavily on exam performance, not just understanding content. That means we practise:
Writing under timed conditions
Adapting essays to unseen questions
Developing arguments that stand out to markers
A standard lesson runs for 60 minutes, with optional longer sessions closer to exams. I also provide detailed feedback and actionable steps after each lesson so you’re always improving between sessions.

I graduated from the HSC with a 99% in Advanced English, and I understand exactly what markers are looking for — not just academically, but strategically. I’ve worked with students across a range of levels, from those aiming to pass comfortably to those pushing for top Band 6 results.
